Kane County Educator of the Year Nominees
Congratulations to all of the nominees for Kane County Educator of the Year, especially John Stewart's own Mrs. Kristi Purnell! While all nominees will be honored at the annual Kane County Educator of the Year Banquet this spring, one winner will be chosen from each category. Please help to support Mrs. Purnell's nomination by writing a letter describing the positive impact she has had on your child(ren) and encourage your child(ren) to write letters as well. All letters in support of Mrs. Purnell's nomination can be sent into school in care of Mrs. Karen Weigt or via email to karen.weigt@kaneland.org

LEGO Wall
The LEGO wall at John Stewart is up and running! During their Critical Thinking class, students have had the opportunity to learn the expectations for using the LEGO wall and had some time to build.

Student Council
The first meeting of the John Stewart Student Council took place just before winter break. The group met with Dr. Sarah Mumm, Director of Student Services for EC-5 and Mr. Mike Rice, Director of Student Services for 6-12, to share their input regarding the implementation of one to one technology in Kaneland. Thank you to Mrs. Sears for serving as the staff liaison for the group.
